You get the price, the car and the meeting point in writing. Nothing to pay yet. At Hato our driver waits at arrivals with a LUXE sign; we track your flight, so delays cost nothing.

Meet us, pay, drive
We hand you the keys at arrivals or your hotel. Show your license and passport, pay by cash or card, and go. We meet you at the same place for the return, with a 1-hour grace period.

The Damage Waiver never covers tires and rims, glass and mirrors, the underbody or keys. The Full Waiver covers glass, mirrors and the underbody — only tires and rims and keys are excluded. Neither covers damage caused by alcohol, off-road driving or a car left unlocked. If the car is stolen, the police report and the car key must be handed in; without the key, the value of the car is charged.
Mercedes C250: Damage Waiver $22/day (you pay max. $1,000), Full Waiver $30/day — a waiver is required on the C250.
Peak season +$20/day replaces the +$5 high-season charge, it is not added on top. All season charges include tax.

Before you book
When can I pick up a car?
Our cars are available from 16 November 2026. You can reserve now for any date from then on; nothing is charged until pick-up.
How old do I need to be?
23 or older, with a driving license held for at least 2 years. The Mercedes C250 is available from age 25.
Is insurance included?
Third-party liability is included, as required by law. Damage to the rental car itself is not. Some credit cards include rental-car damage cover — confirm with your card issuer before you travel. Or add our Damage Waiver ($16/day, you pay at most $500) or Full Waiver ($23/day, you pay $0 for covered damage — this one also covers glass, mirrors and the underbody). A waiver is required on the Mercedes C250.
Which license do I need?
Your valid home driving license, a passport or ID, and a credit card for the deposit hold ($250–$1,000, depending on your waiver). An international permit is only needed if your license is not in the Latin alphabet.
How do I pay?
Pay at pick-up, cash (USD, XCG or EUR) or card, same price. You do not pay anything to reserve. At pick-up we place a pre-authorized hold on your credit card as a deposit ($1,000, or $500 / $250 with a waiver), released when you return the car. Prices are per day in US dollars and include the 9% OB sales tax. We release the hold when you return the car; your bank may take 3–10 days to show it.
What about fuel?
Return the car with the same fuel level you received it with. Missing fuel is charged at $25 per quarter tank or part of one.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick-up. Later cancellation or a no-show: nothing is charged because nothing is paid in advance, but repeated no-shows may be refused future bookings. Once a rental has started, unused days are not refunded. Just send us a WhatsApp message.
Are there any other fees?
Only if needed. Late return: 1 hour grace, then $10 per hour, and a full extra day after 3 hours. Cleaning for excessive sand or dirt: $25. Smoking in the car: $150. Lost key: at cost. Traffic fines: the fine plus $15 admin. Cars may not be driven off-road.
What if something happens on the road?
Do not move the car. Call ForenSys on #9233 (toll-free 0800-1199) for the accident report, then message us on WhatsApp. We help 24/7. Without a ForenSys report, the renter pays the full damage.
Driving in Curaçao
Good to know before you set off
Drive on the right
Speed limits are about 40 km/h in town, 60 km/h outside and up to 80 km/h on the main roads. Roundabouts are everywhere.
Beaches in the west
Playa Kenepa, Cas Abao and Playa Lagun are 40–50 minutes from Willemstad. Fill up the tank before you leave town.
Parking in Punda
Use the paid lots near the Queen Emma Bridge and Waterfort. Never leave valuables visible in the car.
